Since the last couple of days I have this weird problem. Everytime I download a dmg file and I want to open it the error I get is codec overrun. This also happens when the downloaded file is opened automatically and is checked. I also tried to open it in DiskUtilities (I don't know the exact name in english) but the problem still exist. I can't watch youtube videos either. Anybody here who can help me out? My operating system is Mac OSX 10.5.2. It's a macbook 4.1.
Hmmm... I've never had an error like that before. My first recommendation would be to upgrade Mac OS, you can do this to by going to the Apple menu and selecting Software Update. If you've never run it before, you may have alot of program updates, but you can skip most of them. Just look for updates for Mac OS X, Firmware Updates, Security Updates and Java Updates and install those. This may fix the problem.
The solution was the router. I googled several pages and even contacted the apple helpdesk. It turned out the router was blocking it. my other pc and my brother's pc were causing troubles as well. So the router blocked it. I'm glad the issue is solved now
