I bought a new Mac last week and while I like it, I have a few questions.
First, do I have to update my software often? Cause on Windows I found myself having to update Windows like every other day. And how do I update?
Second, does anyone know a good AVI player for Mac?
Third, how do I open RAR files on a Mac?
Finally, is there a Minesweeper game that will work on a Mac? I like that game.

Well, yes, you do have to update, but not that often. You should run Software Update once a week, to be on the safe side. And I should say most updates are for the programs that came with your Mac.

Go to the Apple menu and selecting
Software Update. It's a good idea to run it when you first get your computer as there can be a bunch of updates waiting.

VLC media player is your best choice.

Download and install
RAR Expander

I don't know of any, sorry.

You can also use
UnRarX, which is what I use.

There are several but I use
Mine Swept, which plays just like Minesweeper (including some cool sound effects).
Oh, and if you're looking for any software to install onto your Mac, go to
Mac Softpedia, which contains hundreds of Mac software, most of which is freeware.
Thanks for your answers guys, but I do have one more question, how do you take a screenshot on a Mac? I wanted to add my screeny to the "Post a Screenshot of your Browser" thread, but I don't know how to take a screenshot.

Press and hold down Command, Shift, 3 and that will save a PNG copy to your desktop. You'll then want to rename it and add the png extension before uploading.
