In ESB, when the falcon fly away from the imperial garbage field, how come the falcon doesn't pick up any signal or anything from slave 1? slave 1 seems pretty close behind falcon so shouldn't solo have see it. does anyone have an explanation here?
I always believed that Slave 1 had some kind of sensor jamming device. After all, if you're a bounty hunter you're probably gonna need to sneak up to ships without them noticing you.
He looked like a piece of the garbage so that's probably why Han didn't notice him. Plus Han may not have been paying attention to his sensors (why would he, as far as he knew, the Empire thought he'd gone to hyperspace and have no reason to leave anyone behind).
what i don't get about this scene is how come solo didn't notice slave 1 being placed in the garbage to begin with.
I thought all the systems of the Falcon were shut off when Han clamped onto the Star Destroyer to make him undetectable.

Don't forget that Han didn't know that Bounty Hunters were already working for the Imperials, and he had gotten over confident.
i always believed either han wasn't looking or boba fett has somthing that keeps him invisible to sensors/radar.

what i'd like to know is how boba fett tracked the falcon to bespin without following it there? in anh the Falcon escapre from star destoryers by entering hyperspace, and the empire needed a homing beacon to track it to the rebel base.

I think he'd already figured that the Falcon's hyperdrive was damaged, otherwise they would have escaped already. Boba Fett probably then looked through the nearby systems, sees Lando's name at Cloud city and figures that is where Solo will head (Boba knew of Lando's past with Han).

It's probable that Boba Fett simply powered down and drifted into the garbage field as it was being dumped but before the Falcon detached. Once there, he wouldn't be noticed (after all, every time I watch it, I don't notice Slave I until it fires up to follow them).

As for why no one noticed Fett following them, I believe Solo wasn't expecting any bounty hunters to be near a Imperial fleet, so when they all left, he thought he was safe. Also of note, the Falcon had took a battering and its sensors may have been damaged.
Doesn't Slave 1 have a radar cloak? I could've sworn I've read that somewhere.

Yeah, there is one, the "Star Wars Visual Dictionary" says so. Add the fact that the Falcon was damaged, Boba Fett could follow without being noticed.
