Well? Can it? I heard somewhere that if the planet heats up enough that it could trigger another ice age.
I'm not an expert on the subject, but the theory is that if enough ice melts and dumps enough freshwater in the Atlantic it will shut down the Gulf Stream which circulates warm water and air northwards. That in turn would plunge the northern hemisphere into an ice age.
Another Ice age can, and will, happen again. It's just a matter of time. Ice ages are the result of natural cycles and most of them are beyond our control (stuff like slight orbital shifts, axial tilt, asteroid impacts, etc).
