Tonight for us in Britain the first episode of series 5, "The Eleventh Hour", will air on BBC One at 6.20pm. This will be place to discuss.

I give this a 10/10! Matt Smith has made an incredible debut, the story was wonderful and everything new worked for me. Funny, scary and truly mindbogglingly thrilling all at the same time. From the look of things, Series Five is going to be the best since Series Two.

I've had a chance to see it and I think it's a great opening to the new season! Loved Matt Smith's performance. Wasn't so sure about the storyline of the episode, which I found a bit boring, but still a very enjoyable episode.
I liked Matt Smith more than I liked the overall story, but it was still a good introductory episode - 8/10. I have a feeling this series is going to be amazing.
What did either of you think of the new opening? I wasn't too crazy about it at first but it's starting to grow on me.

I at first hated it but now I'm starting to like it more and more.
I give this epsiode an 9, I loved it. Very strong opening for Matt Smith. Not sure about the new theme tune, but I'm sure it will grow on me.
I'm not sure it needed the longer running time, as it probably could have done with tightening up in places, but still enjoyable.
Some inventive aliens, but the other new characters seemed rather forgettable. Maybe they're given more depth as we go on.
I thought Matt Smith was cool. Despite my initial uncertainties when he first got the role, I thought his approach was spot on. The story was a bit thin for 65 minutes though, I think it could've been handled in 45.
I give the episode a 9, it wasn't the most perfect, and it did drag somewhat in the middle but it kept my interest.
I give it an 8 overall. Great new title sequence, love the new TARDIS, Loved Matt and Amy but I didn't like the story all that much.
I loved it also, though the CGI was a bit off. Truly the only thing I didn't like was the theme music.
My doubts about Matt Smith are well and truly smashed. The moment he stepped out of the 10 Doctor's in that plasma bubble that was the moment I thought: "That is the Doctor!"
To quote The Doctor, this episode was fantastic. The CGI was a bit cheap looking but great pace, great jokes, great fun - Matt hits the mark immediately, absolutely shrugging off any worries. Loved the sequence of the monsters and Doctors at the end.
