I've also heard suggestions that people who registered to vote were turned away because the list given to the presiding officers wasn't updated. What the heck is going on?

Oh great, just what we need, a Florida moment, ten years down the line. A conservative politician does well, and suddenly things begin to look distinctly weird.
I'm listening to the coverage on my computer right now. You'll always have a few people who show up too late, but there were hundreds of people turned away after waiting up for hours in several places. I guess there just aren't enough polling places. I've never had to wait more than 10 minutes to vote.
I didn't have to wait long, but I showed up early (9am-ish).

BBC says my constituency (Maidenhead) will be declared at 3am. I'll probably stay up until 1am.

I'm thinking of turning in myself at midnight. You know, I don't wanna be falling asleep tomorrow at work or anything.
Looks like I'll be the first to see the results of your election since it's only 6:30 PM here. Yes
So how long until we'll start getting some real results? In '08, we more or less knew the outcome of the election within an hour of the polls closing on the West coast.
Don't forget Vulcan, our polls closed earlier than the ones in Britain.

2.30-3.00ish we will see the foundations set for the rest of the night.
They just declared two more constituencies, both in North Ireland. West Tyrone is a Sinn Fein hold and the DUP is holding North Antrim.
We just had the first Liberal Democrat declaration in Thornbury & Yate.
Just had a third declaration in North Ireland. Belfast East has gone to the Alliance Party.

In England, Durham North and Darlington remain Labour and Thornbury & Yate reains Liberal Democrat.

Now that's a major upset, as that was Peter Robinson, leader of the DUP in Northern Ireland, seat.
Well, it seems the results are now flooding in. Yes
More results:

In North Ireland: Lagan Valley is a DUP hold.
In Wales: Arfon is a Plaid Cymru gain from Labour.
In England Kingswood is a Tory gain from Labour.
We just had the first two Tory results: Broxbourne is a Tory hold and Kingswood is a Tory gain.
