Today marks the 15th anniversary of the Oklahoma City Bombing but I'm not sure we learned anything from it. What do you think?
what i'm surprised about is the fact it took 6 years for you guys to execute the bastard who committed the bombing.
I don't think there was much to learn, except that every so often an anti-government ass will kill a bunch of people to make a point. While may debate exist as to what constitutes a terrorist, in this case I don't think there is any debate; McVeigh was a remorseless terrorist who cared only about his agenda and never gave a second thought to the 168 lives he murdered to make a political point.

I'm wondering why it took so long myself, considering it was such an open and shut case. In years past, most were convicted and executed within a year of the crime.
I don't know what worse, the actual bombing or the people on sites like FreeRepublic (or any other conservative forum) who are defending(!) McVeigh. You see, it wasn't really "his fault", he was driven to it by the evil liberal Clinton Administration. Because apparently a Right Wing white dude can't do it.

15 years later, McVeigh spiritual heirs are still alive slamming planes into IRS buildings and bringing guns to political rallies.

There are days where I question why I'm still a Republican.
I know this is going to sound rude, but anyone who defends what McVeigh did should be beaten senseless with a pipe. The bombing was easily the worst act of terror on American soil in the 20th century and had it not been for 9/11 6 years later, it would be considered the worst terrorist act in American history.

I'm afraid to say it, but we haven't learned anything from this. History is going to repeat itself and soon I'm afraid.

It must be the bathroom sex (Tap tap). Wink
I won't ever forget the day this bombing happened. I will never forget the victims, especially the children. Sad Let's hope we can prevent more stuff like it in the future.

They may have been thinking if he got executed too soon he might have become a martyr to some.
Did anyone see the documentary on MSNBC of the tapes of McVeigh in prison? Some of what he said isn't too far from some of the crazy teabaggers are saying (like the government coming for their guns).
